  1. Peel the plantains and cut into 3-4 pieces.
  2. Fry in hot vegetable oil.
  3. Take them out of the oil and pound them flat.
  4. Return the plantains to the oil and re-fry for a few minutes.
  5. Remove and place on absorbent paper.
  6. Sprinkle salt to taste.
